Minggao Ouyang

Prof. Minggao Ouyang is the director of the State Key Laboratory of Automotive Safety and Energy at Tsinghua University, and the Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of Tsinghua University. He has been working at Tsinghua since 1993. Prof. Ouyang’s research covers power systems of energy-saving and new energy vehicles including battery electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and fuel cell vehicles. He was the Director of Tsinghua’s Department of Automotive Engineering during 2001-2007. Prof. Ouyang is the founding Director of the Chinese part of the US-China Clean Energy Research Center-Clean Vehicle Consortium (CREC-CVC), a joint program that is funded by the Chinese China Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and U.S. Department of Energy(DOE), and he serves as the Leader of the Panel for the 863 Program of the Energy Saving and New Energy Vehicles in MOST from 2006. He is the vice president of the Society of Automotive Engineers of China (China SAE), and a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPCCC). Prof. Ouyang is the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Automotive Safety and Energy, and an editorial board member of SCIENCE CHINA Technological Sciences. He has published two books and more than 300 peer-reviewed scientific articles.
