Jie Xiao is currently a chief scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. She also holds a joint faculty position at University of Arkansas. Dr. Xiao’s research interest focuses on the identification of new materials and novel technologies for electrochemical energy storage and conversion. She has been leading research thrusts on both fundamental study and their practical application of energy storage materials and systems, spanning from micro-batteries for acoustic fish tags to advanced battery technologies for vehicle electrification and grid energy storage. Dr. Xiao has published more than 100 peer-reviewed journal papers (Google H-index:56), 2 book chapters and holds 11 US patents with another 7 pending.
